Daniel Ricciardi is the Director, Legal and Compliance at LCR Capital Partners, based in Westport, Connecticut. In this role, Dan will focus on developing compliant EB-5 offerings and will work on complex contracts; United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) filings and compliance; and labor, employment, and insurance matters. Although Dan’s role is a diversified one, the EB-5 Reform and Integrity Act of 2022 imposes a broad range of new rules and obligations on firms like LCR. In addition to his other responsibilities, Dan will take a lead role on compliance with the Act and anticipated periodic USCIS examinations and inquiries.
Dan brings over 20 years of legal and compliance expertise to LCR Capital. Prior to joining LCR, he spent over seven years at Forester Capital, L.L.C., a registered investment advisor based in Stamford, Connecticut, with peak assets under management of $4.2 billion. At Forester, Dan performed a range of legal and compliance roles, including as director of operational due diligence, and was ultimately elevated to the position of chief compliance officer. In keeping with industry best practices, he kept track of regulatory developments and updated internal procedures as needed; performed and documented the firm’s quarterly and annual compliance reviews; and collaborated with compliance consultants to ensure that the firm was “exam-ready” for potential SEC and National Futures Association audits. In his due diligence capacity, Dan made initial and onsite reviews of all hedge funds in which Forester invested or considered investing, producing detailed reports on hedge fund operations and potential risks as needed for Forester’s investment committee. In his legal capacity, Dan revised or updated all fund offering documents, including private offering memoranda, limited partnership agreements, and subscription agreements.
Before joining Forester, Dan performed a variety of legal administration, legal support, and compliance roles at the law firm Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati; the Investment Management Division of Goldman Sachs; State Street Corporation, a large multinational corporation; and the law firms Ropes & Gray LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
Dan earned his BA in political science at the University of New Hampshire, with a minor in justice studies.
