SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission)

The federal securities laws empower the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) with broad authority over all aspects of the securities industry. The SEC’s mission is to protect investors; maintain fair, orderly, and efficient markets; and facilitate capital formation.

Note: The preceding reference to the SEC is not meant to imply that the SEC has validated or approved any offering. The SEC does not evaluate the merits of any offering nor does it determine if any securities offered are “good” investments. The SEC has very limited oversight of private funds and does not administer the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program.
